With a mouse, editors have to click each function to start utilizing it. The keyboard has a control for every edit function and can do multiple tasks simultaneously, which will allow editors to work quickly. Additionally, it can be connected to your laptop and computer through Bluetooth and USB.Īccording to Blackmagic Design, the DaVinci Resolve Speed Editor will result in dramatically faster editing. So, the Speed Editor has a smaller form factor and assigns its keys to have a double function. Essentially, it has removed the QWERTY keyboard. However, it still retains many of the original’s functions. The Speed Editor is a smaller version of the Blackmagic Design DaVinci Resolve Editing Keyboard.

This new release combines the software’s cut page with a customizable keyboard. It also features an electronic clutch that the software controls to set end stops when you’re using it for shuttle and position.Alongside the significant update to DaVinci Resolve 17, Blackmagic Design announced the DaVinci Resolve Speed Editor. The jog wheel itself is machined aluminium with a rubber edge. The jog wheel is positioned for the right hand, leaving your left hand free to enter in and out points quickly before moving on to the next edit. The main idea behind the Editor Keyboard is that you’re fastest and most efficient when you’re editing with two hands. The case is metal with a rubber wrist rest.

It’s designed to be durable and to be used all-day every day, and features keycaps inspired by e-sports hardware. The model in the video above is a prototype but production versions will keep the all-metal construction and rubber inserts. Taking inspiration from the new Cut page in Resolve 16, Blackmagic Design have announced the Resolve Editor Keyboard, specifically designed to integrate with their NLE software.
